Which Nissan TITAN Is Better Suited for You?

As we previously mentioned, both the 2020 TITAN and the 2020 TITAN XD get powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 10 and 19 figures respectively over the previous year models. They also share the same 9-speed automatic transmission. In terms of drivetrain, however, the half-ton model comes standard with front-wheel drive, while the heavy-duty pickup is only available with four-wheel drive.

The main difference between these two trucks lays in their respective capacities. The TITAN XD is ideal for those drivers who need to pull and haul heavy loads on a regular basis. Built on a unique reinforced ladder frame, this model has a maximum payload capacity of 2,450 pounds and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. The TITAN, for its part, offers a payload capacity of up to 1,680 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 9,210 pounds.

Another area where these two models differ is in their measurements. The Titan rides on a 139.8-inch wheelbase no matter which of its two cab formats you choose: a King Cab with a 6.5-foot bed or a Crew Cab with a 5.5-foot bed. The TITAN XD is slightly larger, riding atop a 151.5-inch wheelbase. Unlike its smaller sibling, this model only comes in a Crew Cab with a 6.5-foot bed configuration.

As you can see, both the Nissan TITAN and the TITAN XD bring an incredible amount of power and capacity, so your choice will depend on what you need for towing and payload on the job. Interested in learning more? Please fill out the form below and we will be happy to answer all your questions.
