Nissan Feature Alert: Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert Offers Safety, Convenience, Time, and Money Savings | Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville Blog

Making sure your tires are properly inflated is not only critical to ensuring safety, but properly inflated tires also improve fuel efficiency, ride comfort and more. How do you know if your tires are properly inflated when you have to fill them up on the road? What do you do where there is no tire pressure monitor, or in dealing with the fact that there is up to a 3-4psi variance from different types of tire pressure monitors? Keep reading to learn more about the new Nissan Easy-Fill Tire Alert system – a feature that will ensure your tires are always perfectly filled. Also, check out which new Nissan models are available at Charlie Clark Nissan in Brownsville, TX that offer this exciting and convenient new feature.

Improper Tire Inflation Poses a Safety Risk

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, tires that are underinflated by only 20% triple your chances of having a tire-related accident. They also report that improper tire inflation is noted in 11,000 accidents annually, causing more than 600 deaths. According to the studies, the effects of these crashes can be reduced to a great degree if the tires are properly filled.

Improper Tire Inflation Costs You Money

Low tire inflation is not only a safety risk for drivers but also costs them money due to premature tire wear and reduced fuel efficiency. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, four out of five consumers are driving with improperly inflated tires (either too much or too little air pressure). Driving with properly inflated tires would save those consumers as much as 11 cents per gallon on fuel and extend the life of a tire by 4,700 miles.

How the Nissan Easy-Fill Tire Alert System Works

With the ignition on, you start adding air to a tire. As you do, the turn-signal lights flash letting you know the vehicle has noticed what you’re doing. Once the correct pressure is reached, the horn honks to let you know it’s all set; if it gets too high, it’ll sound twice. It’s that simple!

Using Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert System is Convenient and Saves You Time

Nissan is offering the best technology to attain the recommended pressure within a few minutes, taking only half the time of the traditional tire gauge. Nissan's easy-to-use Easy-Fill Tire Alert helps consumers quickly and conveniently fill their tires, at a filling station or in the comfort of their own garage, to the correct pressures every time. This is all done without the need for a handheld pressure device or looking up the correct tire pressure numbers.

The Easy-Fill Tire Alert System is Available on Many Nissan Models

Nissan has already sold over 9 million vehicles equipped with the Easy-Fill Tire Alert System in the United States. This alert system is a standard feature on the brand's most popular models including the Versa, Sentra, Altima, Maxima, LEAF, Kicks, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Murano, Pathfinder, Armada, Frontier and TITAN.

For more information on Nissan's exclusive Easy-Fill Tire Alert and the complete Nissan vehicle lineup available in the Rio Grande at Charlie Clark Nissan in Brownsville, TX, call (956) 303-1790.

2022 Nissan KICKS Announces Prices and Specs. Still a Great Value in a Sea of Expensive CUV and SUV Models! | Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville Blog

Looking to buy a small and inexpensive crossover SUV? The 2022 Nissan Kicks might be worth checking out! Nissan currently produces three trim levels with attractive pricing, starting under $20K for the Kicks S model. Despite the low price point, the small crossover has interesting looks aimed directly at younger buyers. Kicks offers a long list of the standard and available features that have helped attract young, enthusiastic new buyers to both the vehicle and the Nissan brand.

Trimline MSRP Pricing

Currently, the S model begins at $19,700 and comes with 16-inch steel wheels, a keyless entry system, and power windows and locks. The mid-level Kicks SV starts at $21,550 and has additional body color components, silver roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Sitting at the top of the range is the Kicks SR, which begins at $22,240. It features a lightly revised exterior with LED headlights, a dark satin chrome grille, integrated turn signals in the mirrors, and a rear spoiler. Customers can opt for a $1,200 Premium Package upgrade to the SR trim line that adds Prima-Tex® upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and an eight-speaker Bose® audio system.

Fuel Economy

The standard fuel capacity is 10.8 gallons, which should provide around 330 miles of driving range per tank of fuel. Having an EPA rating of 31mpg city/36mpg highway/33mpg combined, the 2022 Kicks sips on fuel more like an economy car than an SUV, tying ratings with the comparable Toyota C-HR.

Best in Class Technology Features

Nissan’s infotainment system is intuitive and easy to learn; less daunting than the Honda HR-V’s system. Kicks features a 7-inch driver information display, a USB Type-C port, 8-inch infotainment system in SV and SR trims. All trim lines come standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, as well as available NissanConnect® Services that includes available Wi-Fi hotspot and remote vehicle commands. Adding the premium package upgrade to the SR trim adds the Bose® Personal Plus System, something no other competitor in its class offers.

Best in Class Safety Features

The Kicks earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It also earned a four-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Key safety features include lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, automatic collision notification, and for peace of mind, standard Nissan SafetyShield®360 with class-exclusive rear automatic braking.

Best in Class Interior Dimensions

The 2022 Nissan Kicks has more front row legroom than the Kia Soul, the Ford EcoSport, and the Toyota C-HR. Drivers of the Kicks will find it's not just their legs that have ample room but with more front row head room than these competitors the Kicks is roomier from head to toe. In addition to comfort and space for up to five people, the 2022 Nissan Kicks also offers more cargo space behind the second row than these competitors.

What it’s like Living with an EV vehicle. | Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville Blog

When it comes to making the switch from a traditional combustible engine vehicle to an all-electric vehicle (EV), there are lots of questions for how it changes life on a daily basis. Of course there is no better source for understanding these changes than current EV drivers themselves.

The issue with looking to manufacturers for information on life with an electric vehicle is that they are trying to sell you on the changes so you’ll make the switch. While professional reviewers can be helpful on the journey, they also tend to only drive a specific EV for a limited amount of time.

The only real-life information on what life is like for drivers of an EV is straight from those who have already made this switch. So what kind of changes does this transition require? Many of the pain points and the advantages are probably not what you think they would be.

LONDON, UK (Sept. 11, 2017) – Scottish husband and wife team Chris and Julie Ramsey, aka Plug In Adventures, crossed the Mongol Rally finish line in Ulan-Ude on Saturday to become the first entrants to complete the epic trans-continental challenge in an all-electric vehicle – a modified 2016 Nissan LEAF dubbed the AT-EV (All-Terrain Electric Vehicle).

Electric Vehicle Drivers Desire to be a Part of the Climate Change Solution

Choosing an electric vehicle as your daily driver makes a lot of sense these days. From the initial benefits like tax credits and not having to gas up on your daily commute, there are several obvious perks. Some potential EV drivers may have questions about how far they can drive on a single charge in the current EV offerings.

Knowing that your daily driver has zero affect on the environment when it comes to vehicle emissions is also a big motivator for drivers to make the switch. In fact, this reason alone stands out as the top motivating factor for drivers choosing an EV.

Drivers also regularly note the low cost of ownership, but this is only after making the transition to an EV. Several families choose an EV for their primary vehicle as a larger effort to reduce their carbon footprint as a whole.

Driving an EV is a Different and Often More Fun Experience

Once drivers make the shift, some unexpected benefits include the driving experience itself. For example, EV owners mention how the acceleration is much greater in their electric vehicle compared to similarly priced and sized vehicles with a gasoline powered engine.

The reason for the increased acceleration is due to an immediate delivery of power from the battery to the engine that is then transferred to the rest of the power train. In a traditional vehicle with a combustion engine, the process of converting fuel into energy is a more complicated and slower process. The “instant-on” torque curve of an EV is very noticeable.

This effect in EV vehicles is not reserved for the more expensive models. Even the most affordable and basic electric vehicles possess this characteristic and take advantage of quicker acceleration—making all of them at least a little more fun to drive in most cases.

Today’s EV’s are almost like RC cars for grown-ups! Think about when you used to play with remote control cars or maybe you still do—especially if you have kids. Remember how the toy would take off immediately when you pressed the accelerator? Well that accelerator is now a pedal on the floor (in most cases) and instead of watching it go, you’re sitting in it!

INFOGRAPHIC: Simple things can be amazing

A Simpler Powertrain Means Fewer Parts to Maintain

EV drivers really appreciate how they not only get to skip out on regular fills ups at the pump, but how there is also no longer a need for oil changes or other similar maintenance needs that accompany a traditional gas-powered vehicle. In fact, a lot of drivers even use the term “maintenance-free” to describe their EV experience.

While the need for maintenance is different for an electric vehicle, there’s no such thing as an entirely maintenance-free vehicle, but apparently it kind of feels that way for EV drivers. As the number of publicly accessible charging stations continues to skyrocket across the country, the convenience factor of EV’s will continue to climb as well.

Charlie Clark Nissan of Brownsville provides drivers from across the Rio Grande Valley the chance to learn more about EV’s like the very affordable Nissan LEAF. Come by Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville, browse our inventory online, or call today!

Enjoy the Comfort of the NASA-Inspired Nissan Seats

By Product Expert | Posted in Technology on Wednesday, April 1st, 2020 at 7:18 pm

What Are the Nissan Zero Gravity Seats?

Do you ever get tired after sitting in the car for long periods of time? Don’t worry, you are not alone. To reduce muscle fatigue, the human body naturally slumps, which increases spinal bending and puts pressure on the lower back, resulting in more tiredness. To end this vicious cycle, Nissan developed Zero Gravity Seats, a patented seating structure designed to maximize comfort while reducing fatigue. But what are the Nissan Zero Gravity Seats, exactly? And how do they work? Scroll down to find it out.

Read more: What is Nissan Intelligent Mobility?

Why Zero Gravity?

These seats take their name from the neutral position our spines take in zero gravity. In space, our bodies assume a relaxed posture that minimizes stress on our bones and joints, and reduces fatigue. Nissan engineers used these findings to design entirely new seats and optimize the comfort of passengers.

How do Zero Gravity Seats Work?

While the Zero Gravity seats were not designed by NASA, they were inspired by zero-gravity space travel. Developed along with Yamazaki Laboratory at Keio University, these seats were designed using a seat simulator and a muscular-skeletal model.

The Zero Gravity Seats’ unique shape provides continuous support that extends from your hips to your shoulders. They are built with 14 different pressure points that support your spine and put it in a neutral position. By maintaining this neutral posture, drivers and front passengers experience improved blood flow and reduced muscle loading. Overall, this translates into less fatigue on the road and optimized comfort whether on short commutes or long road trips.

What Nissan models have Zero Gravity seats available?

Nissan offers Zero Gravity Seats for both the driver and the front passenger in multiple vehicles across its lineup. This technology was first offered on the 2013 Altima, and now it is also available on the MaximaKicksRogueMuranoTitan, and Titan XD.
